Some of our classes include quite a bit of walking and we wanted to develop something catered to folks with mobility issues and so we have come up with this private experience to introduce you all three types of birds that we have here at the center.

Throughout your experience you will learn about the art of falconry and our contribution to conservation, the natural history of the different raptors and their role in the environment.

We start your experience with a falcon; West Coast Falconry has three falcons who will fly to the glove, which is a bit of a rarity for most falcons and a great introduction to these sky hunters.

After we fly the falcon, we glove up and work with one of our trained Harris’ Hawks on the training green, putting them through their paces. Here you interact with one of our raptors. We teach you to call the bird to the glove and cast it away.

And lastly, we finish with the owl. Meet one of the most primitive raptors on the planet and explore the remarkable adaptations that make them the apex night flier.

Throughout your experience you will learn about the art of falconry and our contribution to conservation, the natural history of the different raptors and their role in the environment.

Spend two hours immersing yourself in the world of falconry. Your falconers will teach you basic falconry techniques and help you capture these moments with your camera.
