Junior Falconer Day Camp

The perfect summer adventure for your 8-13 year old bird enthusiast, animal lover, vet or future animal trainer!  Wild about birds of prey?  Spend a day among these magnificent creatures at West Coast Falconry’s Junior Falconer Day Camp.  Campers will become raptor experts through outdoor activities, games, science discoveries and the unforgettable experience of actually working with our trained birds of prey!

8:30am-2pm (8:00 arrival)
Tuition: $148.00 per camper

Ever wonder what it takes to be a falconer or raptor rescuer?  Find out what it is like to work with birds of prey! Spend the day as a falconer while you learn how to handle, feed and care for raptors.  Would you like to prepare food, discover training tricks, interact with and clean up after our raptors?  Then come join us in this interactive and hands-on class!  Note: Junior Falconer Day Camp is an introduction and hands-on training to working with birds of prey.  Campers will get the opportunity to handle a variety of raptors and will be required to participate in hands-on activities pertaining to the care of the birds i.e. handling raw meat, cleaning enclosures etc.  Latex gloves will be provided in any unsanitary activities.

Dates offered are open as the first fill up. Once the class fills, the next date is opened for enrollment.

** Minimum Class Requirement is 5, if minimum is not met, we will move or cancel and refund the class**

* Enrollment must be completed online – no exceptions!

*Space is limited go to the calendar to reserve your child’s spot; no observers.

*Keep in mind, as a Falconry Center, we have a “bring in/bring out” policy and we cannot provide a receptacle for your child’s refuse. Please provide a container for your child’s leftovers to save, compost, recycle…whatever you choose.

· FOOD/DRINKS- Snacks, lunch & drinks
* Please provide plenty of fluids for your child to drink throughout the day.   Water bottles are ideal; please no glass

  · CLOTHING- Campers should wear weather appropriate clothing that can get dirty and/or wet. A change of clothes and shoes is recommended. Please LABEL your child’s gear.

 · FOOTWEAR- Footwear should be suitable for hiking and running; no sandals please. Closed toed shoes are required.

· BACKPACKS- Backpacks are great for carrying food, drinks, hat and keeping all of your child’s belongings together.

· SUNBLOCK- We are not allowed to provide or apply sunblock. Please apply before camp if desired.

 · INSECT REPELLENT – We are not allowed to provide or apply insect repellent. Please apply before camp if desired.
